In order to give children a playful access to reading and writing during lockdown, our 26 fantastic monsters help to bridge the gap to missing school life.
Our preference for humorous illustrations met our need for unusual font design: In March 2020, the Vienna non-profit initiative ›Illustrators against Covid-19‹ invited designers to create illustrations to color for children to be entertained during the lockdown. We created single sheets of illustrated letters, the ABC as monsters that could be colored. Due to all the positive feedback, the monsters are now available for download as a font!

Interpreting the alphabet with abstract monsters enables children to get to know each letter as a character of their own and bring it to life in a colorful way. When combined to words or names, the characters form crazy monster families.
